Congratulations! You've purchased a... binder...

Lesson one of building your new home:  The money, hard work, stress and dreaming doesn't become tangible for a very long time!
I am thrilled to report that the Hubster and I have signed a purchase agreement with Wayne Homes.  We cut them a good-faith down payment check and apparently, that means we've bought a house - or are at least on our way.  It was much more anti-climatic than I had always dreamed.  After much dreaming, floor plan redesigning and excitement, I signed some papers and got a beautifully organized binder in return.  The fun is about to begin but the anticipation is killing me!  In the meantime, let me share with you what we will eventually own - A very expensive storage space for that nifty binder!

We decided on the Jamestown Classic Floor plan.  It's the perfect size, has tons of storage and a laundry room!  As silly as these requirements sound, they were must haves for me.  I love our little apartment but, it's getting too small now that there are three of us, but, I digress.  After choosing the floor plan, we began customizing - One of Wayne's touted specialties.

On the first floor:
  1. Added a wood-burning fireplace
  2. Added windows to either side of the fireplace
  3. Add windows to the back wall of the living room - So the entire wall is windows looking out on to the lake.
On the Second Floor:
This is where stuff gets fun!
  1. The recreation area will be dissolved
  2. The Main Bathroom will extend to the window in the rec area
  3. The rest of that space will become part of the Master bedroom
  4. The entire rear half of the house will be Master bedroom
  5. The luxury Master Bath will be placed in the front of the house from the stairs to in-cut (?) of the wall
  6. The new Walk-in-Closet will be from the in-cut to the wall.
Exterior of the House:
  1. Extend the porch by 7 feet on front of house
  2. Add a pretty white column
  3. Build a 12x16 deck off of the dining area in the rear of the house.
I hope you'll continue to follow.  I'm going to need a place to get the crazy out so, that could get entertaining by about January!  Please feel free to ask questions or just post a comment!

Until Next Time!

Ciao
