I am thrilled to report that the Hubster and I have signed a purchase agreement with Wayne Homes. We cut them a good-faith down payment check and apparently, that means we've bought a house - or are at least on our way. It was much more anti-climatic than I had always dreamed. After much dreaming, floor plan redesigning and excitement, I signed some papers and got a beautifully organized binder in return. The fun is about to begin but the anticipation is killing me! In the meantime, let me share with you what we will eventually own - A very expensive storage space for that nifty binder!
We decided on the Jamestown Classic Floor plan. It's the perfect size, has tons of storage and a laundry room! As silly as these requirements sound, they were must haves for me. I love our little apartment but, it's getting too small now that there are three of us, but, I digress. After choosing the floor plan, we began customizing - One of Wayne's touted specialties.
On the first floor:
- Added a wood-burning fireplace
- Added windows to either side of the fireplace
- Add windows to the back wall of the living room - So the entire wall is windows looking out on to the lake.
This is where stuff gets fun!
- The recreation area will be dissolved
- The Main Bathroom will extend to the window in the rec area
- The rest of that space will become part of the Master bedroom
- The entire rear half of the house will be Master bedroom
- The luxury Master Bath will be placed in the front of the house from the stairs to in-cut (?) of the wall
- The new Walk-in-Closet will be from the in-cut to the wall.
- Extend the porch by 7 feet on front of house
- Add a pretty white column
- Build a 12x16 deck off of the dining area in the rear of the house.
Until Next Time!
Ciao
